Prayer Request

Posted by sibbia on August 14, 2007

hands-and-bible.jpg

Wherever two or more are gathered in my name, there I am.

There is, there always has been and always will be, power in prayer.  And just as there is strength in numbers physically, there is strength in combined prayer.

Prayer is sustaining and comforting.  To have the support of a prayer group is encouraging and tremendously more powerful than going it alone.  That said, I’m asking my readers for their help and support for one of our own.  Forgive me for not being able to do this story justice.

Turning Obstacles into Victory

Anne is a 54 year old woman from a small town and still believes in (and reflects) the traditional small-town virtues of respect, honesty, loyalty, perseverance and hard-work.  After 13 years in the manufacturing field, her life took a sudden turn when she was hurt on the job.  In her own words:

“being hurt at work and having people I’d worked with for over 12 years and believed to be friends, turn on me was very painful. But it presented me with the opportunity to finish my book…”

After only nine months back at the workplace, Anne was in a car accident which totaled her truck and left her in need of healing and unable to return to her previous line of work.

For over a year, Anne has worked on recovering and helping her family, all the while depleting her savings, and now after 28 years of payments, she is being threatened with losing her home in November.

P.U.S.H

November is three months away!  Our life situation can change overnight and any challenge or crisis is a situation we can learn from and overcome.  Afterall, the Universe has an abundant supply if we just learn to see and tap into it.  There is most certainly a supply for every demand.  That said, I ask that we all help Anne p.u.s.h!

Pray Until Something Happens!

Here is the summary of the story in Anne’s own words:

“Many things led up to this ..an accident at work which had to be fought with workman comp..then no sooner back to my job of 13 years, I was rear-ended on a blizzard day bringing my son home from the VA hospital. {decided} No fighting that battle with work so I quit to heal, lived off my 401k but healing was for naught…the lawsuit just settled as most settle…very little. BUT my time off gave me the opportunity to finish my first book… my aged parents have me at their full disposal which I am very grateful for, because of the accident my veteran son decided it was time he try to become better by accepting his ptsd, bi-polar and manic depression, take his medication and help the others vets coming home, my daughter is trying to improve her life and I will soon begin college for my Pastoral degree. The Lord works in mysterious ways and I begrudge no-one, none or nothing.”

Please include Anne in your prayers, meditations and visualizations.  Send her love and light and support.  You can leave comments for her here and I will soon create a permanent page for this prayer request (and any others that come to me).  Anne can be contacted directly at:  annies_star@tds.net.

Seeing is believing and believing is achieving — help me prove that statement beyond a shadow of any doubt.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6

Personal Account 8/3/07 — Divine Guidance

Posted by sibbia on August 3, 2007

One thing I often suggest is that we affirm and request Divine guidance in our lives.

Two sample affirmations are:

I request the unfolding of God’s Divine plan in my life.

Old things fall away and I am guided to the right people and right circumstances

to manifest the beauty of God’s plan for my life now.

I call on and follow intuition, my inner knowing,

and I am led to just the right action, at the right time.

But in addition to regular affirmations, it is important to reach out to the Universal mind whenever a decision needs to be made.  Request that God’s wisdom help you decide how to proceed and ask for a definite sign or hunch.  It will be given to you.

Lately, I have been wondering what I could or should add to my product line.  An idea came to me but I wasn’t sure if it was something I should pursue.  I began my normal process of weighing the pros and cons, costs and potential benefits (I do study engineering afterall) when I remembered to let go and simply ask for a direct sign.

Shortly thereafter, I realized I hadn’t read Today’s Daily Word in a few days and looked at today’s message:

New Adventures

I move forward with enthusiasm for my next adventure.
Now is the time time for the good and the new for acting on ideas that have inspired me. As a child of God, I am guided in ways that lead me to share more good with more people.

I release any unproductive or stagnant patterns from my past and embrace the innovative. My new adventures take many forms, and this may bring a time of change to my lifestyle. I may have opportunities for a new career, to relocate, or to travel. This very day, I discover expanded ways to serve God.

With each adventure, I experience greater freedom of expression. Valuing opportunities to share, I give the very best I have to give and I receive with gratitude. I welcome new adventures, the freedom they bring me, and the good they bring into my life and into the lives of others.

Whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all. — Galatians 6:10

For this to be the first thing I read after having just requested Divine guide and a definite sign, was crystal clear to me.  I should pursue the other line of inventory.  More importantly, I was told why and how I should do it.  It is just another way to serve God and share more good with more people.  I consider the chance to do that a blessing and something I am happy to pursue.

Asking for Divine guidance provided me with a clear, simple answer which completely bypassed the reasoning mind.  I am grateful for the ability to ask what I should do and find out!

I hope this story helps lead others to request and receive guidance in their affairs.  As always, let me know!

As a Man Thinketh…

Posted by sibbia on July 16, 2007

Thoughts are the foundation of all our mental pictures and, as such, they are responsible for all the situations we draw to ourselves in life.  We must develop a constant practice of guarding our thoughts and allowing our mind’s eye to see only that which we want to happen for ourselves and others.  This is what’s meant by seeing is believing and believing is achieving.

Learning to control our thoughts and emotions can be a difficult and time consuming process for some, but even if you cannot always control your thoughts (yet), you CAN control your words.  This is the point of affirmations.  How to use affirmations was discussed in the last post, so it won’t be covered again just now.  I do, however, want my readers to look forward to the future inclusion of a new page on this blog; one especially for affirmations.  Any that I have written or found useful will be included.

In addition, I’ve decided to make my affirmation cards available to any of my readers who would like one.  These cards are approximately 4 x 6 and laminated.  Some include pictures and scripture, all include affirmations I’ve found particularly helpful for different subjects.  They are meant to be carried everyone and easily fit in a purse or back pocket.

I’ve found myself facing a challenge and my personal response to this is the same that is advocated on this blog — give, nurture, be creative, have faith and be thankful.

I know that my success comes through helping others and what could be better than helping others become more successful?

If you’re interested in receiving a card for yourself or a friend, please send me an email, sistersibbia@hotmail.com, include your name, address, and type of situation you are faced with or problem/trait you want to address.

Remember, all roads lead to God.

Becoming A Divine Vessel (Summary)

Posted by sibbia on July 12, 2007

The Becoming a Divine Vessel series was presented with the goal of providing us the means to express the divine force inside us on a regular basis.

It is a five step program that is as simple or as complex as we choose to make it.  Any one step can bring great change into our lives if we focus on it with diligent attention.  As a group, they encompass the spiritual Laws necessary to bring us closer to God and reflect God’s light and power into the world.

It is also important to note that these Laws are not only a foundation for spiritual success; they are key to our material success and manifestation as well.  When we realize the Divine plan for our life is whole and perfect, we are content to accept only that which is God’s will for us.  This frees us from envy, fear, worry and doubt, and this freedom opens the channels for the abundant, Universal supply to flow to and through us.

To review, the five steps that were given to us are:

1. Listen to the Quiet Voice — Seek God’s guidance.  Trust in more than your mind and your senses.  Allow the answer, idea, or help you need to come to you.  Expect it without fear or worry and it will be so.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. – Psalm 32:8

2.  Learn to Nurture — Make caring and kindness part of your nature.  Start in small ways and expand on it.  Dedicate yourself to caring for something from thought to finish, remembering you reap what you sow.

3.  Be Creative — A hallmark of God’s nature, creation.  Develop creativity as you would a muscle.  Train it exercise it, and use it daily so that it will be there to serve you when you really need it.

4.  Establish Order — Refuse to let chaos rule in your thoughts or your surroundings.  Pay strict attention to your thoughts, words, and the things you allow to influence you — your surroundings, choice of books, music, movies, etc.

5.  Forgiveness — Let go and let God.  Reconcile yourself with the things of your past.  Hold no resentment or ill will towards another being.  Instead send forth love so that love may return to you.

May these words help to guide you along your path!

The Divine in me recognizes and celebrates the Divine in you,

Becoming A Divine Vessel (Part Five)

Posted by sibbia on July 10, 2007

One of the conditions that block the expression of the divine force inside us is our failure to embrace one simple virtue — forgiveness.

Forgiveness:

1. To give up resentment of.

                   2. To cease to feel resentment against.

The idea of a forgiving God is clear in the Scripture, “Thou art a God of forgiveness, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, and abounding in loving kindness. And Thou did not forsake them.” (Nehemiah 9:17)

This idea of forgiveness as a Divine virtue transcends any particular religion. It can be seen everywhere. A Muslim starts a prayer with: “In the name of Allah most gracious most merciful.”

The need for forgiveness also lies outside of any spiritual venue — physical ailments, psychological disorders, and great loss of life have all been tied to a lack of forgiveness.

That said, forgiveness should be a daily practice. It can be extremely healing and transformative. Forgiveness is another method for establishing divine order and, as such, helps to release any blocks which stop the flow of good into your life. In securing the good (blessings) we expect to receive, we must remember that achieving true faith, becoming more successful, and finding our place in the world is not an act of force. It is a quiet determination and desire for good which is allowed to guide all our actions. Allow this desire for good (in other words, success and blessings in all aspects of life) to permeate your being. Send that desire forth, expecting it to return to you in countless ways. Now knowing that we are all connected and that we reap what we sow, how could we wish anything but success for another?

Realize that your “enemy” is God, that your “competition” is God, that you are God and bless everyone in every situation that crosses your path. Affirm that everyone and everything ultimately works for your own success as you desire only the best for others. Do this several times a day until it takes hold in your spirit and watch it unfold in your life.

This one practice is more important than the other four covered in the Becoming a Divine Vessel series. It is transformative and if you are new to the practice of active forgiveness, you may be shocked at how much you have to forgive — broken promises, past relationships, family conflicts, competitors, childhood trauma… forgive them all, let them go and embrace the abundance of love and light that now comes into your life.

Creating Spiritual Surroundings

Posted by sibbia on June 22, 2007

This is from today’s daily word. It is a message we could all stand to hear repeated time and time again. Many things our on spiritual path are like that. We’ve heard the message before, understand it, even believe it, but they’ve failed to make a lasting impression on how we live our lives. The ideas have failed to move from the province of belief and intellectual understanding to a deeper knowing that guides our actions.

One way to make spiritual principles a constant part of your life is to make them a constant part of your day. Listen to and read motivational messages, surround yourself with love, beauty and nature whenever possible, spend a moment to recite a few affirmations, say a prayer and contemplate your spiritual beliefs and goals. Above all, develop strong friendships with others who share your goals and beliefs; they will sustain you.

This blog is meant to help us begin to accomplish that. In that vein, here is a message that has helped me today. May it provide inspiration for you as well.

Divine Order

With a peaceful mind and a faith-filled heart, I trust God for right results.

With trust in God, I let go of any apprehension about what might happen today and accept bright, new possibilities. I relax knowing that divine order is unfolding.

Everything necessary for this day to be a success is coming together. Each person involved is inspired to contribute in positive and meaningful ways. Harmony, peace, and mutual respect are evident in every interaction. The activities of this day flow smoothly and bring about exceptional results.

As the day progresses, I may require an extra measure of reassurance and strength. Restating my daily affirmation helps me realign my perspective with thoughts of divine order. Placing my trust in God for right outcomes, I participate in the activities that are mine to complete today.

“He has made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things and secure.”— 2 Samuel 23:5

Remember that seeing is believing and believing is achieving. When you read these words, take a moment to picture the truth of them in your mind’s eye. See it, believe it, achieve it.
